Registration for fall workshops will open September 1.
Enrichment weekly workshops provide students in kindergarten through grade 8 specialized after school learning opportunities with experienced instructors and passionate teaching artists, 音乐家, and professionals from the greater Portland area. 研讨会 offer in-depth exploration into the arts, 跳舞, 戏剧/代理, 科学, 工程, 电子音乐, 体育运动, 纸牌游戏, 以及像《bet365官网》这样的角色扮演游戏 & 龙.
- Parent pickup location for all workshop attendees: 托马斯住宅环路.
- Fall 2023 workshops begin the week of September 25.
- All students must be registered to attend an Enrichment workshop. Full up-front payment for workshops is required prior to atten跳舞.
- 研讨会 are open to students from the broader Portland community, not just Waynflete.
- 研讨会 are offered in three seasons: fall, 冬天, and spring. Dance is offered in half-year sessions.
- If a workshop is canceled due to low enrollment, we will notify registered families one week before the first class.
- For programs that take place off-campus: Bus transportation is provided to/from off-campus locations so that parents can pick up their children at the Spring Street campus.

Susan Wiemer returns to Waynflete to offer STEAM: Science of Toy-Making for grades K–2. Our younger “STEAMers” will focus on 科学 and 工程—combining Susan’s usual ingredients of art, 团队合作, and fun physics lessons in disguise. K–2 makers will focus on different projects, such as dynamos to learn about electromagnetic concepts, puppets with a moving mouth and jaws, 辆, toy inventions—always with entertaining results! Susan’s STEAM workshop for grades 3–5 encourages an understanding and love of 科学 and 工程 through the 有创意的 process. “STEAMers” will design and make toys with moving parts—physics lessons in disguise. 每个季节(秋天), 冬天, spring) STEAM makers will use recycled materials to design and build projects, 比如有关节的木偶生物, 一辆赛车, a slingshot target game (think rubber chicken), 和更多的. For STEAMers in grades 3–5, each season will also include slot car racing. Building and racing these amazing electric toys is a great way to learn physics! We will be using the “old-timey” kind of slot cars, which allow for modifications so that we can reduce friction, 增加吸引力, 调整转矩. Building, repairing, and racing these cars requires skill and practice. Coach Mary Gray will teach students in grades 3–5 tennis basics through fun games and drills to encourage a love for the game. Unless a student is signed up for lunch at home, tennis players will be picked up from their classroom by Enrichment staff to enjoy lunch and recess before departing campus for the tennis clinic. Bus transportation is provided to and from the campus loop.

Players will each take on the role of a unique character in a fantasy story and will need to work as a group—led by a practiced dungeon master—to uncover treasure, 解决谜题, 完成他们的目标.
